Davenport’s 2018 Chief Blackhawk Motorcycle Show

2018 marks the 47th meet for Chief Blackhawk. Whether you’re looking for an old bike, parts or just want to go watch some racing, there is something for everyone in Davenport. Hosted at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, there is plenty of room to putt around the swap meet area on your bike, trike or whatever you brought. Spectators come from all over the world to flock here for 3 days of swap meets and other motorcycle related events. Coker Tire has been traveling to Davenport for many years, selling motorcycle tires, tubes and rims to the diehard folks who attend the show year after year. Let's take a look at some of our favorite Coker-equipped bikes, as documented by one of our sale representatives, Benjamin Battles who is pretty handy with a camera. Check it out.

Gene Harper’s 24 Indian Chief + Sidecar
Gene Harper stopped by the booth with his 1924 Indian Chief. Equipped with a correct Princess side car, he is planning on taking it to the 2018 Motorcycle Cannonball.

Mike Kane’s Custom “Superman + Lois” 1948 Panhead
Mike Kane has been building this motorcycle for many years. He actually met his wife because of it, so it holds some special memories. Mike is rolling on our Firestone ANS tires.

Jack Miller’s 1946 Indian Chief
Jack Miller acquired both a 1946 Indian Chief and a 1934 Standard Scout over 40 years ago in Burlington, Iowa and waited 35 years to restore both at once. The Chief has our Firestone Deluxe Champion Motorcycle Tires on it.

Bob Cleary’s 1929 Harley JD
Bob Cleary ended up being the new owner of this very beautiful (and mostly original) 1929 Harley JD. Bob had only just purchased the bike from our friends over at Antique Archaeology not but 12 hours after they themselves traded one of their other bikes for it! Riding on our Coker Classic 385-18 Tires.

Casey Ketterhagen and Mike Lange, 1925 and 1921 Harley Davidson Racers
Casey Ketterhagen rode to a third place finish over the weekend up in Davenport on a 1925 Harley Davidson owned by Mike Lange. Casey told us that the bike is actually an original FHAC racing bike! Mike also had a close second place for his class with his 1921 Harley 2-cam. Both bikes running our period correct tires...Firestones on the '21 Harley and Coker button treads on the '25 Harley. A good reminder that Champions Choose Coker!
