SEMA 2016 -- New Products, Killer Cars and Tire Smoke

The SEMA Show is the largest automotive spectacle in the world, and we're so happy to be a part of SEMA 2016. It's the 50th anniversary of the show, and it's also the 50th anniversary of the Firestone Wide Oval tire. We celebrated the awesome anniversary by introducing our brand new Firestone Wide Oval Radial tire. The day kicked off at the New Products Breakfast, where we placed 2nd in the New Products Display in the Tires and Related Category. We were up against the big dogs, and our new Firestone Wide Oval radial stood tall in a room full of winners. Shortly after the New Products Breakfast, we had a Press Conference regarding the new tire, showcasing it front and center in our indoor booth. Muscle car expert, Steve Magnante hosted the event, while our President, Wade Kawasaki and CEO, Corky Coker spoke about the new tire and how it is a game changer for the muscle car market. We also installed a set of the new Firestone Wide Oval Radials on Wade Kawasaki's beautifully restored 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge, showing exactly what the new tires look like when they're mounted to a classic muscle car.
From there, we hiked all over the show field to scope out feature vehicles to showcase here on the blog, as well as our YouTube channel. We spotted a bunch of cool stuff, but we didn't even scratch the surface of everything that SEMA 2016 has to offer. We also chatted with a number of our industry friends, vendors and media partners to catch up and talk business. After a long day on the show field, we watched the RTR Takeover, which is an awesome, tire scorching display of horsepower from Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s camp. Rad Rides by Troy built this incredibly detailed Model A sedan, and is displaying it in bare metal in the Flowmaster booth. The metal work on this car is over the top, and it's built around a set of Excelsior Stahl Sport radial tires. [/caption]

Hot Rods by Dean built this very slick '33 Ford three window coupe and went with a set of our Firestone Dirt Track tires (11.00-15's out back). [/caption]

We can't get over the attention to detail on this chopped and channeled roadster. It has a sanitary Hemi power plant, lots of slick paint and of course, a set of Coker Classic 16-inch radial whitewall tires, wrapped around steel wheels.[/caption]

Our friends at Omix-ADA always have a huge display of vintage Jeeps, and SEMA 2016 is no different. We'll dig into more detail on these Jeeps but just wanted to show you this nicely restored Jeep Wagoneer, pulling a vintage camper. The tires? Yep, they came from Coker![/caption]
