what does the speed rating mean?

Answer:

The speed rating is the measured top speed sustained a tire has been tested for before failure. For example, if a tire is rated an "S" for the speed rating, it is capable of 112 MPH sustained. If the vehicle with S rated tires exceeds 112 MPH continuously, the tire will likely fail.

Refer to the "Specs" to see load capacity, as well as all other relevant measures. Load capacity is per individual tire, to be multiplied by amount of tires used to determine total load capacity for a given vehicle.
