American Classic Radial | 1.6 Inch Whitewall | 235/75R15

We all remember well the classic cars from the sixties that had narrow whitewalls, as auto manufacturers began decreasing the width of the whitewall in the late 1950s and early '60s. Since then, narrow whitewall tires have been very popular. These 235/75R15 radial tires offer the right look for your classic car, thanks to the tall sidewall and tread pattern. The 1.6 inch whitewall is built into the mold from the very first step, so it is a genuine whitewall tire that will hold up well over time. American Classic tires are made in the USA and they are DOT and ECE (European Community) approved and covered by Coker Tire Company's Life of the Tread warranty.

Genuine Narrow Whitewall Tire

This product features a genuine narrow whitewall sidewall style. This means that the bright white rubber is added directly to the tire sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. When we reference "narrow whitewall" tires, we typically mean a whitewall that measures less than two inches, but it can also mean a whitewall that does not reach all the way into the bead. Narrow whitewall tires are popular for many cars built in 1960's all the way through the 1990's.

Radial Tire Construction

Radial tires were first introduced by Michelin in the 1950's, and by the mid 1970's, all American cars came from the factory with radial tires. Radial tire construction means that the tire's ply layers are positioned at a 90 degree angle to the bead. This allows the tire to flex and glide over bumps and breaks in the road. Radial tires provide a smoother ride and longer tread life than bias ply tires. We offer wide whitewall radial tires, as well as narrow whitewalls, redlines, gold lines and high performance radial tires.

American Classic Tires for Collector Cars

Our line of American Classic radial tires includes P-metric radials (such as 235/75R15) and our famous "bias look radial" (such as 670R15). We offer American Classic radial tires in wide whitewall, narrow whitewall, and black sidewall in select sizes, developed specifically for 1940's, 1950's and 1960's classic cars. These tires feature a classic tread design and a beautiful sidewall that's built into the tire from day one of production.

Please Note

  • Tire mounted on wheel for demonstration purposes only. Wheel and other accessories are not included. Please note that dimensions listed (tread width, section width and overall diameter) are non-scientific and based on an inflated tire, mounted to a wheel. Dimensions may vary due to rim width and inflation pressure. Please note Chemical Guys Tire and Rubber Cleaner and Adams Polish Tire shine has been linked to Whitewall browning and should not be used. We recommend using our line of tire care products.

Question:
Hi I have a set of firestone FR721 P235-75R15om my 1971 Lincoln and had one of the tires roll the tread completely off the wheel I have another wheel that looks likes like it wants to roll as well. Im in Central Calif any thoughts
By Garth B Higgins / Ron Wolfe on August 25, 2018
Answer:

Garth, We are sorry to hear about the trouble. Where did you get the tires? We do not offer a Firestone in a 235/75R15. Is this a set of tire you purchased from us? If so, please reply with photos of the issue, the DOT codes of the tires, and your original order number or address and phone number. We will be happy to try and assist you with this.
